My Opinion on Z, Tenney, Logan, and Gabriela Being Archived

I have varied reactions for each of these dolls being archived. Also, I find it interesting that American Girl didn't think that AG Rewards members wouldn't tell everyone about the archiving of Z, Tenney, Logan, and Gabriela. Like shouldn't they know how we are by now?     Let's start with Gabriela; first off she wasn't that creative. They just re-used a Truly Me and since she's a Girl of the Year character she should have only lasted a year. Don't get me wrong, American Girl listened to us, but then don't re-use a doll. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the most upset, I'm only a 3 on the scale of being upset over her archival.       Next, let's do Tenney. In case you didn't know, she's not my favorite. She wasn't very popular and I understand why. Her lips are a bit too colored and I never really thought she was all that interesting. Any other doll American Girl's released I've been at least mildly excited over. American ...

Why Z, Tenney, and Logan Are Getting Archived

First off, I believe that they were archived due to multiple reasons. One of these reasons is that Toys R' Us damaged American Girl a bit. Since Tenney and Logan were sold there and they are currently being sold at Kohl's it's bringing American Girl down. I'll go more into that in a different post. For Z a lot of people complained about her hair falling out easily, my Nanea is the same way. Tenney got backlash and I don't believe that she sold very well. Z is basically just #64 with longer hair and a beauty mark. Logan goes with Tenney and I don't think that he sold very well either. With American Girl's quality dropping, I have a lot of post ideas.  Thank you so much for reading!!! ~Ella

What Were to Happen if American Girl Started Marketing to Older Customers?

I know, long title. But I've wondered this before, in fact, it was an American Girl Doll News post that made me decide to finally talk about this. Firstly, I personally feel that less 7-9 year old's go to American Girl, but more 10-16 year old's are into American Girl. It seems that American Girl is slowing starting to market towards older customers with Tenney and Z, but still not enough. In my opinion, if American Girl were to start marketing towards older customers, their sales would start to rise. Last year, I sold 2 of my dolls (#38 and #55), and a girl who was maybe anywhere from 12 to 14, bought them both. This really has made me realize the age group that purchases American Girl's products. Do you agree with this? Thanks for reading!!! ~The American Girl Theory

Why Kit and Z will not be Archived

I have decided to say my opinion on this topic. American Girl Doll News' theory is that they will be archived (or cubed), but I disagree. First, let's start with Kit. Kit: 1: It's important for girls to know that female reporters weren't always as common as they were today. For instance, my great-grandmother had a 5 minute show in the 50s or 60s. That was a big thing then, think about it in Kit's time, especially for a girl her age. 2: The 1930s need to be talked about, people should be learning from Kit's story to not take things for granted. Z: 1: She's such a new character, if they were to cube or archive her they'd get a lot of backlash for it. 2: American Girl finally released more diverse characters, they know better than to archive or cube Z.
