The American Girl Theory

HAPPY HALLOWEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. So I just want to talk about it. This isn't really going to be doll related, which is very,   very , very , very  unusual. So, I like dressing up for Halloween and I'm going to be Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice is a movie from 1988 about this couple that dies, becomes ghosts, and meets Betelgeuse (pronounced Beetejuice). Lydia is the daughter of the couple that moves into the dead peoples' house. I'm not going to spoil too much. She only ever wears black, unlike me, a girl who loves fuzzy sweaters and dresses and p a s t e l s . As you can probably tell by reading this post, I loveeeeee Halloween .    I've made a lot of posts on Blaire this month, and here is my complete theory on her, so far. Where she'll be from: Georgia or Wisconsin Color Scheme: Pastel green, lavender, and pastel pink Story: Dealing with a mental illness (a form of anxiety and/or depression) and wanting to help others going through a similar situation Interested in: Helping others, gardening, farming, creating things to help others. Furniture/Accessories: Barn, Sheep/Lamb*, Pig*, Tractor, Gardening Set, Party Set Fundraiser: Yes, something to help people with mental illnesses. Quality: More like old quality the second half of the year. Outfit Idea: (I only have 2, I'll hopefully get into this more in November)  What she'll look like: light skinned Josefina mold with long, wavy red hair, light/decal brown eyes and Mia freckles or dark skinned Sonali mold medium length, straight, dark brown hair with a redish tint and brown or blue (decal) eyes, and bangs.  Here are

    So, I may have made a discovery... Luciana's trademark came in 2016 and she was released about 2 years later. Nanea was 1 year before her release, like Blaire will be. I have this little theory that since Emory's first and last name trademark came in 2017, he/she will be released in 2019. Upon some research, if Emory will be a girl she will most likely be contemporary. If Emory is a boy, the 80s, 50s, 20s, or he'll be contemporary. So, that's what I've learned. I know this is a short post, but I have a feeling that after the Blaire leaks (there will most likely be more), we will get some Emory leaks. Maybe, just maybe, Emory will be Blaire's friend. Sorry for the long title, but I feel like this is an important post to make. Sooo, like the title says, I went to the American Girl store October 9th. First off their were 2 questions I asked an employee. Question 1: Will Molly ever come back to American Girl's stores? The employee said no, she also thought that was weird. I completely agree with her. Question 2: Do you know if their are any plans on going back to the old eyes? (Side note: I worded this a bit different when I asked her. I wrote down my experience in a journal, so I'm just writing what's in there.) So, the employee I asked knew nothing about the new eyes until I pointed them out. She noticed the difference between the old and new eyes and she was not in the know of any changes. If you are going to an American Girl store soon, please ask them if their will be an eye change. If we can get employees knowing about the new and old eyes, we will get closer to change.  Other things: I never thought I'd be

Anyways, here are my updated theories on what I touched on in that post. Question 1: My basic question for this was: What will she be interested in? As I've said in some of my 11 other Blaire posts from this month, something revolving around design. I'm thinking at it from a crafting perspective, or building. I also think that she will be interested in taking care of animals, gardening, and overall I just feel like she will enjoy doing farm work. After all, we do know that she has both a pig and a lamb. Also, side note, her lamb reminds me of Felicity's lamb. Question 2: Where Will Blaire Be From? I got really sidetracked and ended up on a completely different topic when I

      About a week ago, I went to Target and saw Our Generation's doll Melina. She is absolutely gorgeous. I also got a new outfit. Anyways, when I was there I realized that their vinyl is way better than it used to be. I used to have a couple Our Generation dolls with squishy vinyl, but it is not at all like that for Melina. The outfit I got is amazing quality and the other outfits their were the same way. Honestly, I never thought I'd be saying it, but Our Generation is becoming better than American Girl. They have dolls with more natural hair and fairly good quality without being too expensive. Yet, there has always been one thing that I've wanted to change with Our Generation, the hair. There's too much of it, and being that it's way different than American Girl hair, the amount of it makes it very hard to brush; especially with curly haired dolls.      I am going to be using a Blaire leak to help us out with this.   Other of her leaks also have lots of pastels. Based on this, I can expect a color scheme with pastel pink, a light, but not pastel, green, light yellow, and purple. That'll be really pretty.     So, I know that I've said that I think that one of her family members or friends will get cancer, but I want to expand on that. The author of her books, Jennifer Castle, has written books with characters dealing with mental illnesses and mental struggles. If American Girl has a character with anxiety, depression or another mental illness; I will be soooo happy. Because here's the thing, it isn't just girls needing a doll who looks like them, it's girls needing a doll with a character they can relate too with struggles. It isn't just adults with mental illnesses, if we could have a character with a mental illness we could make mental illness more talked about, American Girl would be helping a lot of people. Maybe, instead of someone in her family getting cancer, she has struggles with anxiety or depression, and farming or gardening is her way of calming herself. She would have parties to help people going through the same thing as her. Again, if this happens, I w

    In one of my posts on Blaire (Blaire the Mystery Doll) I showed a map with every state an American Girl character is from. Here it is:  I don't think I missed anything on this, but if I did please let me know. Wilson is a popular last name in the states in orange.  The only 2 that American Girl hasn't used and I colored orange and Texas and Georgia. Yet, we do need to remember that sometimes American Girl will have 2 characters from the same state. For example, both Chrissa and Kirsten live in Minnesota. So Blaire could be in just about any state when we put it like that. Yet, I'm guessing she will be in Texas, California, Georgia, Florida, or North Carolina due to the amount of research American Girl does. They'll make sure everything lines up.      I recently did a post on mistakes that American Girl has fixed and now here is a post on what American Girl needs to fix.      The obvious beginning of this post is to address changes that need to be made with the dolls. First off, the obvious, the eyes. In case you didn't know, you can kinda see inside of the eyes and they point downward. Another thing that American Girl needs to change is the zip ties. Like, let's just get rid of them and bring back neck ties, because now the body fabric is all scrunched up around the neck. Third, the old body fabric needs to come back, the new fabric adds to the scrunching around the neck. The wigs is yet another thing that American Girl needs to fix due to not enough hair and hair that falls out easily. Those are the mistakes that need to be fixed with dolls.               Now, here is the simple thing that I need American Girl to change with their pets. The eyes. Like honestly, the thread/sewn-on eyes just really don't look good

         Okay, so by fundraiser I mean the sort of thing they did with Grace and Lea, raising money for a cause through the dolls. My guess to this is yes, just based off of my other theories for Blaire. Like before, probably raising money for a cancer foundation. That's what I'm expecting, but there are some reasons why there may not be a fundraiser. For example, the last doll with a fundraiser was Lea, so it's been 2 years.     As you most likely all know, Molly is at Costco now. Well, not mine, oh well. I'm wondering if she will return to all stores like the cubed dolls did. My guess is yes, but on January 1st or a bit before. After all, American Girl released a lot about a week before 2018 last year. That's my guess, sorry this theory was so short. I'm going to use the theories that I have used in other posts for this post. I don't know if that makes sense. First off, I do think that she will have a barn, knowing American Girl it'll be pretty girly and pastel. But honestly, I'm really hoping for a vintage wooden barn. I think that would be really cool. Also, if she's fundraising for cancer and have parties I feel that she will probably have a platform to stand on or something where she can give announcements. I would also love some sort of garden for her. That would be really pretty. I have a lot of other post ideas for Blaire so get ready. I have another post coming on Monday.    American Girl's quality varies a lot. If she does have a barn and such, I'm guessing we'll have pretty good quality. Larger furniture items often have pretty good quality. As long as there aren't too many parts and no cardboard we should be able to expect good quality. Of course, American Girl's furniture quality often isn't the best. Here's a list of American Girl quality from best to worst. 1. Clothing 2. Pets 3. Furniture 4. Dolls The furniture should be a least decent if there aren't too many moving parts.     Even though American Girl's quality hasn't been its best lately, it has been getting a bit better. Luciana's clothing quality and Kit's Gardening Outfit all have the quality we've been wanting. The same goes for Maryellen's items. This gives me high hopes for good clothing fabric for Blaire. Also, I have put some newer outfits on Fern and they fit just fine so we probably won't have to worry about that. American Girl's clothing quality is going up, so that's really good news. Also quick note on the new mix and match set, for some reason it reminds me of Marisol's collection, like her meet outfit. Anyways, what are you expecting for Blaire's clothing quality?    Although American Girl hasn't been listening to us lately, here are some times that they have listened to us. One of these occasions is when they fixed the perma-panties. Not only did they get rid of them, if you got a doll with them you could get them removed/get rid of the torso. (You know what I mean.) They also aren't always the most diverse, #80 was a great doll for them to release. They gave us a boy doll and they are giving us more diversity. The thing that they still aren't understanding is that they shouldn't market to the customer group with more people, but the customer group who will buy more dolls. Once they discover this, they will be way more successful. Younger girls often don't buy quite as many dolls because there parents think the dolls are too expensive. People can tell, even if they're new to American Girl, that the eyes aren't right. Our Generation knows what they're doing, American Girl is, questionable. Sorry, went into a bit o

Sorry about the long title. As you may already know by now, Girl of the Year 2019 may be a party planning doll. I'm also still stuck on the idea that she will host fundraisers for cancer patients. So, here is my guess on what she'll look like. I made her hair have a red tint and her eyes are green. 1. 2. 3.  This is what I picture in my head, but maybe with curly hair.      I've done this with Nanea and Blaire when I thought she was a 90s doll. Sydney from American Girl Doll News covered a rumor that she may be a party planner. This would be cool, but honestly, with all of the pink, the first thing I thought of is a fundraiser for breast cancer. This would be absolutely amazing, sad topic, but incredible idea. I would love a story where somewhere someone in her family gets breast cancer and so she starts a fundraiser. Perhaps selling food at a local farmers' market to get money for the person. Then, maybe expanding into a business helping people with all sorts of cancers. Parties for fundraisers, crafts, etc. I know we had a business with Grace, but this leaves an open opportunity for American Girl to partner with someone. This is an important cause and I'm slowly doing "a Nanea", like okay, I know I wanted her from the start, but I got obsessed with Nanea. I think I may be doing that with Blaire. So, don't be super shocked

With all of the downgrades American Girl has made lately, Blaire's quality most likely won't be the best. I don't know how long it takes for American Girl to make dolls, so I'm not sure about everything. Also, when we complain, why doesn't American Girl listen, I thought that they wanted to get money. Besides that, we all really started complaining about the eyes in early August. In August it was 5 months until the release of Blaire. I'm guessing that Blaire dolls sold in the first 3-6 months may have downward eyes while the rest won't. This is since American Girl has lately been fixing some stuff, so I predict that they'll change this soon. I do think that we can expect the same body cloth, zip ties, and wig that we currently have. I'm not sure if we'll have a gap in the eyes. Hopefully the wig won't be bad, but I'm not getting my hopes up for that one. This is what I feel we can expect for her quality.      Yes, I know this is similar to a post I did recently, but this one is less pictures. You'll understand as you read. First, let's use this image from Poppets and Posies as an example:      I do think that this will be Blaire's, being that her other leaks are also pink and/or pastel.       Also, I'm not using Blaire Wilson in the titles yet because I remember in maybe 2013-2015 when I wouldn't know a characters name until 2 months before release. Therefore, I want to make it easier for other people who aren't posting this stuff; if you know what I mean.        Based off of just using this image, maybe we'll get some actual doll jeans in a light blue.
