Proof That Younger Girls Don't Buy American Girl Anymore

So, I go to a K-12 school with only 150-215 kids. Only grades K-4 use the library. K-4 is ages 5-10; what I classify as American Girl younger audience is ages 7-10. I asked our school librarian how often the American Girl books are checked out. She basically said that they're not checked out often, but they are checked out. Which means that American Girl probably needs to start marketing to older audiences. Just thought that I would point this out to everyone. Thanks for reading!!! ~Ella

Beforever Molly vs. Historical Molly

Image
In my last post I realized a lot of differences between Beforever and historical Molly and I wanted to point them out. Glasses  Beforever Molly:  Historical Molly:  To be completely honest, I despise Beforever Molly's glasses. They just look terrible. I hope that if American Girl ever re-releases Molly they choose the historical Molly glasses instead. Hair Color Beforever Molly:  Historical Molly:     In my opinion, Beforever Molly's hair looks lighter than historical Molly's hair. Hair Length  Beforever Molly:  Historical Molly:    Take note that their hair would be longer out of braids and this is "in braid length." Historical Molly's braids go down below her elbows; while Beforever Molly's stop at about her elbows. At this point, I just want American Girl to bring back historical Molly, but in Beforever Molly's outfit. (minus the glasses.) Thanks for reading!!! ~The American Girl Theory

Will Molly Ever Actually Come Back from the Archives?

Image
I do plan on asking American Girl this question in the near future. When making this post I discovered some pretty odd things. Firstly, I went to American Girl's play site to find an image of Beforever Molly that used  to be there, but it isn't anymore. This is the original image:  The first red flag is why did they make an entire Beforever outfit just to not release it? Does this mean that they will in the future? If so, when will that be?  Now, here is the picture it was replaced with:  Same backround, just historical Molly.      Now, what can we make of this information? Firstly, I believe that American Girl realized everyone wondered when Molly would be released based off of the first image, so they deleted it. Yet, they deleted it not because she wouldn't be released, but because it would be a while until her release. But then, when will she be released? A while back I suggested that maybe the wrong date was typed in on Amazon and it was really supposed to be 2

Is American Girl Coming to an End?

This is the question that has been on my mind lately. Why? Here are some reasons.  1: There is no August doll release this year. Unless, American Girl is planning some huge thing, we have no August doll. I believe they've been doing August releases since 2014. Even though I got Caroline in 2012, I never really got into American Girl until 2015. 2: Marketing. I've said it before and I'll say it again, American Girl needs to start marketing to older audiences.  3. Just amount of people I see in American Girl. I've gone to American Girl since 2011 or 2012. I feel like a lot more people used to go then there are now.  What do you think? Do you agree or disagree? I'm really hoping American Girl will use new characters to market towards older audiences.
