A Positive Outlook on American Girl

I have begun to look through the American Girl community for the first time in around 2 years, and boy oh boy have things changed! And quite honestly, I am adoring the changes! I thought I would mention some things that I have noticed, some opinions I'm having about the American Girl of the 2020s, and some updates for this blog!      Starting off, here is a consecutive list of changes I've noticed, both within the brand of American Girl and the American Girl fanbase. Within this list are my thoughts, most of which are very good! Courtney!  I was actually aware of Courtney pretty close to her release, I just didn't feel that much of an urge to post about it. I think she's super cute, but she just isn't my style! I love her arcade and Caboodle! I also loved the touch of giving her her very own American Girl doll! My only critique is that apparently her eyes have a slightly downward gaze, but it doesn't seem to be that noticeable. World By Us I am i...

What We Can Do to Change American Girl for the Better #1

So, 2 posts back I put up a Google Form in which you could answer the question: How can American Girl Change? I'll put the form at the end of this post if you want to answer, please note that I will comment on them on here. Anyways, I got a response that I have decided to comment on today. I will put numbers in some spots to section it out a bit. Soooooo here the answer is! 1) Bring back the historical lines. Rid of the bright colors and go back to the original colors. 2) No one in Kit’s day wore the bright cheesy colors now being sold. Our older Kit doll has outfits that look and feel authentic. 3) She had a friend we could buy too. 4) The historical doll line with the quality authentic-seeming clothes are unique to AG. Now, there are so few clothes and accessories for the historicals and what is there is often poorly made and cheesy. 1: I have thought this ever since Beforever was announced. The colors didn't fit the characters' time periods. 2: Going along wi...

Future of This Blog and American Girl

Look, I never wanted to make this post. I wasn't planning on making a post addressing this until yesterday. Anyways, flashback to yesterday, my friend informed me that the AG store closest to where I live is closing. Now, before I talk about the future of this blog, I want to talk about American Girl. I know that people, including myself, are upset about the closing of the Boston and MOA AG stores. But here is why I think this could be a good thing for American Girl. Firstly, in my opinion every American Girl store except for the AG Places should close. I just feel like this would be best for American Girl since it could help them save some money. Another thing is that I feel like American Girl just kind of needs to restart. I've said it before and I'll say it again, American Girl just isn't marketing to the right audience. Even if younger kids are going to American Girl more, it would help if AG would market better. For example, people 12 and up would spend ...

A Lil' Update

So, I got Blaire. I also am SUPER PUMPED  about the American Girl eye replacement thing. I think I'll get Luciana's eyes fixed in February or March and Blaire's in March or April. We got 44,382 pageviews! Another thanks for an incredible year! This year I plan on making this blog a lot better with more in depth theories. I do have a few plans, so don't worry. I know I need to catch up on a somewhat new trademark. If I'm ever gone for a bit it's either because I'm really busy or there isn't much to post about. You should see another post from me within a week. See you all soon!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for reading!!! ~Ella

What Will Blaire's Quality Be?

Image
First of all, sorry for not posting this earlier. I was going to post it yesterday, but I accidentally scheduled it for 10:30 PM instead of 10:30 AM. It had been around 5 PM when I noticed  this, so I decided it was a bit late. Sorry!     These are the 2 main photos I will be using for this post:  I will be calling the first image B1 and the second image B2. Now here's what I've come to the conclusion of. First of all, in B2 we can see that the dress looks rather formal. GOTY formal dresses are normally released in the second half of the year. This means that that image could be more recent. Meanwhile, in B1 we can see that her eyes are most definitely pointing downward. I'm guessing that when B2 was taken, AG was slowly starting to raise quality; without us knowing. I don't know how long it takes for an American Girl doll to be made, but I have a solid guess on Blaire's quality. Here's a timeline on my Blaire quality theory: January-April 2019: Good...

What I Learned at the American Girl Store on October 9th

Sorry for the long title, but I feel like this is an important post to make. Sooo, like the title says, I went to the American Girl store October 9th. First off their were 2 questions I asked an employee. Question 1: Will Molly ever come back to American Girl's stores? The employee said no, she also thought that was weird. I completely agree with her. Question 2: Do you know if their are any plans on going back to the old eyes? (Side note: I worded this a bit different when I asked her. I wrote down my experience in a journal, so I'm just writing what's in there.) So, the employee I asked knew nothing about the new eyes until I pointed them out. She noticed the difference between the old and new eyes and she was not in the know of any changes. If you are going to an American Girl store soon, please ask them if their will be an eye change. If we can get employees knowing about the new and old eyes, we will get closer to change.  Other things: I never thought I'd be...

Mistakes American Girl Needs to Fix

I recently did a post on mistakes that American Girl has fixed and now here is a post on what American Girl needs to fix.      The obvious beginning of this post is to address changes that need to be made with the dolls. First off, the obvious, the eyes. In case you didn't know, you can kinda see inside of the eyes and they point downward. Another thing that American Girl needs to change is the zip ties. Like, let's just get rid of them and bring back neck ties, because now the body fabric is all scrunched up around the neck. Third, the old body fabric needs to come back, the new fabric adds to the scrunching around the neck. The wigs is yet another thing that American Girl needs to fix due to not enough hair and hair that falls out easily. Those are the mistakes that need to be fixed with dolls.               Now, here is the simple thing that I need American Girl to change with their pets. The eyes. Like honestly,...

What Will the Quality of Blaire's Furniture Be?

American Girl's quality varies a lot. If she does have a barn and such, I'm guessing we'll have pretty good quality. Larger furniture items often have pretty good quality. As long as there aren't too many parts and no cardboard we should be able to expect good quality. Of course, American Girl's furniture quality often isn't the best. Here's a list of American Girl quality from best to worst. 1. Clothing 2. Pets 3. Furniture 4. Dolls The furniture should be a least decent if there aren't too many moving parts. What are you expecting for Blaire's furniture quality? Thanks for reading!!! ~Ella

What Will the Quality of Blaire's Clothing Be?

Even though American Girl's quality hasn't been its best lately, it has been getting a bit better. Luciana's clothing quality and Kit's Gardening Outfit all have the quality we've been wanting. The same goes for Maryellen's items. This gives me high hopes for good clothing fabric for Blaire. Also, I have put some newer outfits on Fern and they fit just fine so we probably won't have to worry about that. American Girl's clothing quality is going up, so that's really good news. Also quick note on the new mix and match set, for some reason it reminds me of Marisol's collection, like her meet outfit. Anyways, what are you expecting for Blaire's clothing quality? Thank you so much for reading!!! ~Ella

Mistakes American Girl Has Fixed

Although American Girl hasn't been listening to us lately, here are some times that they have listened to us. One of these occasions is when they fixed the perma-panties. Not only did they get rid of them, if you got a doll with them you could get them removed/get rid of the torso. (You know what I mean.) They also aren't always the most diverse, #80 was a great doll for them to release. They gave us a boy doll and they are giving us more diversity. The thing that they still aren't understanding is that they shouldn't market to the customer group with more people, but the customer group who will buy more dolls. Once they discover this, they will be way more successful. Younger girls often don't buy quite as many dolls because there parents think the dolls are too expensive. People can tell, even if they're new to American Girl, that the eyes aren't right. Our Generation knows what they're doing, American Girl is, questionable. Sorry, went into a bit o...
