Why Does American Girl Keep Covering up Their Mistakes?

They've done it multiple times and I feel that it needs to be addressed. A great example of this is when someone posted pictures of a new doll with squishy vinyl. American Girl basically responded by saying that therefore it couldn't be one of their dolls. Don't get me wrong, it easily could have just been in a hot car for a while, but when the doll was  clearly  American Girl, and them saying that it's not one of their dolls is just stupid. They could have at least responded by saying that they were sorry. Then there is the most recent event of this, when American Girl stated that they new, downward looking eyes, had "more pronounced colors" and were more "lifelike." What about those eyes is lifelike?  I've shown it with my Luciana before, pinwheel is supposed to have depth and her eyes don't have that. Also, the eyes are supposed to face forward, not downward like the new eyes. Based off of all of this, I believe that American Girl is tr

Girl of the Year 2019 Prediction

Yes, I know that I said I was going to wait until September or October, but I have an idea and I will not let it wait. First off I believe that it will be Emory Van Zant for the following reason: The trademark is from 2017. 2 years. Not less than one year like Blaire. That was weird, sorry, it felt like it fit. I have no clue what she'd look like. Or he, maybe a Boy of the Year as well as a Girl of the Year. I don't know, American Girl has 0 leaks, it's annoying. I just thought I'd share this little theory I have, I hope you enjoyed. Also, I've had Nanea for a year now! Thanks for reading!!! ~Ella

Special Molds #7: #4

I haven't done one of these in a while and since I recently got #4, so I thought it was fitting. If you don't know what Special Molds is, it's basically where I analyze one of American Girl's molds. First off, #4 is the only doll with this mold. If you compare #4 in catalogs from 2003-2005 vs catalogs from 2007-2009, you may, like me, think that they are different dolls; yet when I asked an American Girl employee if they were different, she told me they were the same. I feel like I should do a series of what American Girl employees teach me about the brands. Anyways, I also think that #4's mouth looks similar to Addy's, because when #4 was released the only 2 other molds were the classic molds and the Addy mold. In my opinion, #4 doesn't look very similar to the Jess mold. I find this interesting because I feel that American Girl would try to make the 2 molds look similar. I think that I may bring Special Molds back, this was fun to make.  Thank you so muc

Will There Be a Girl of the Year 2019? (Also the Letter American Girl Sent Me)

Image
Sorry this is so late, I was at a school thing and didn't have me journal with the post in it. Then, when I got home I decided it was a bit late to be posting. It's hard to explain the whole thing. Anyways, normally around this time we know at least a little about the next Girl of the Year. Yes, American Girl has been better about hiding stuff, but still. The reason I'm questioning if we'll even have a Girl of the Year for 2019 is because with both no leaks and American Girl's sales going down, it just makes sense. Another reason is because Luciana will be sold a bit into 2019, almost like American Girl didn't expect her to do well. I personally believe that Gabriela wasn't originally going to be sold at all this year and she only was because she wasn't doing well. They really aren't Girl of the Year dolls anymore. I'm hoping that it's just like last year, where American Girl is just better at not leaking. I do not think that Blaire will

American Girl's Reply

I'm back!!! In case you didn't know, I recently sent a letter to American Girl about their quality. After reading it, it was clear that it wasn't an automatic message. They said they are listening, which was clear after reading due to the fact that the employees don't usually write the letters themselves. Also, good news, American Girl isn't partnering with Kohl's anymore, this is more proof of them listening to what we're saying. Apparently, fans wanted Girl of the Year dolls to last longer, but I'm not sure how much I believe that. They are sorry and they are passing on our messages. They've told me this before and the employees have always been very nice to me which is why I don't want any more of their employees to get fired. This was the fastest American Girl's ever replied to me. Also we got to 10,000 page-views while I was on vacation which I am so happy about, so thank you. Thank you so much for reading!!! ~Ella

American Girl's Quality and What It Could Mean for Them

In my last post I talked about it a little, and I want to explain what I mean. Since 2016, American Girl's quality has really been dropping. They aren't paying attention to us, or are just ignoring us. They seem to think that dropping quality and keeping prices is the answer to save their sales, even though ,us, the customers, are disagreeing. Even if they were to drop their prices, it wouldn't help them. This is because there fans would still be upset because what they would want to change still wouldn't be changing. The only change American Girl has made is the perma-panties thing. The more that Mattel treats American Girl like Barbie, and the more American Girl lets it happen, the lower their sales will go. This isn't just about us wanting to heard, it's about letting their employees keep their jobs. American Girl could end soon, we need to prevent this. Here are some ways you can help. -Follow @bringbackagquality on Instagram, they are really helping me ke

How Toys R' Us and Kohl's are Bringing American Girl Down

I've talked about it a little, but I feel it needs a full post. I'm not the only one who thinks this, and don't get me wrong, I think it is better in states without an American Girl store. The problem is that they are being sold like any other Mattel product, products that they don't even compare to but may in the near future. If you didn't know about American Girl and saw them in a Toys R' Us, you'd think they were stupid overpriced items, which once again they may become in the near future, but that's for another post. It's hard to explain, but what I'm trying to get at is that American Girl will not thrive if their dolls are being marketed like Barbie dolls. It's way more fun to go to a store dedicated to one thing filled with people who are obsessed with that thing than go somewhere with a bunch of different things with people who obsess over different things. It feels nice to be with your people, that's what I'm trying to get at.

Why Z, Tenney, and Logan Are Getting Archived

First off, I believe that they were archived due to multiple reasons. One of these reasons is that Toys R' Us damaged American Girl a bit. Since Tenney and Logan were sold there and they are currently being sold at Kohl's it's bringing American Girl down. I'll go more into that in a different post. For Z a lot of people complained about her hair falling out easily, my Nanea is the same way. Tenney got backlash and I don't believe that she sold very well. Z is basically just #64 with longer hair and a beauty mark. Logan goes with Tenney and I don't think that he sold very well either. With American Girl's quality dropping, I have a lot of post ideas.  Thank you so much for reading!!! ~Ella

What I Got at the AG Benefit Sale

Image
I'm not going to take pictures of everything, because that has been quite time consuming. (I'm talking about taking pictures of all of my archived clothing items.) So here is everything that I got. 1: Fern 2: The blue dress that is on Fern. I got it from one of the vendors and it fits her perfectly. The shoes that are on her I also got at the AG Benefit Sale. 3: Maryellen's School Dress. I also put in a picture of Fern, to just show you how it looks on her. 4: Samantha's Special Day Dress I got it for Clara (#3) and I will probably take pictures of her in it soon. 5: Lea's Beach Dress I don't have many outfits for Lea and since that dress only came if you got her exclusive collection or whatever it was, I was glad they had it. 6: Some items from the fall 2017 mix-and-match collection A pink purse and a headband also came with it. 7:  The clip is from Lea's Beach Dress and the shoes were on Fern when I got he

More Pictures of Fern

I just couldn't help myself, she's so pretty. I personally think Fern looks a bit like Cho from the Harry Potter series. If you haven't read my last post, it would be great if you would. It'll make sense once you read it. Thank you so much for reading!!! ~Ella

American Girl's Quality

I've been a fan since 2012, they started falling in 2016. They need help. Sooooooooooooooo , would you guys like to help me make them listen. First off, we need to contact them telling them how we are feeling. Ever since I found about what they did with the eyes, I decided I needed to actually say something. You can call, email, or send them a letter.  https://www.americangirl.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/MattelAGContactUsContentView?catalogId=10601&langId=-1&storeId=10651 I'm writing them a letter to start. Let's try to have contacted them by the 15th. If you need some ideas on what to write or call about, here are some. -Doll quality -Selling dolls in Toys R' Us and Kohl's will drop their sales. -Dropping quality isn't going to save their sales. -Their quality doesn't match the price -They are going to lose customers Those are just some, I personally will keep buying from American Girl, but I will be cautious. American Girl isn't lis
