Meet Fern

Image
First of all, sorry I haven't been posting. Secondly, the second day was pretty boring. I decided not to go in the warehouse (may have said that in my last post, I'm not sure) and I just got the dress that Fern is wearing in these photos. Also, I learned that Tenney was inspired by Taylor Swift from the same vendor who I bought Fern from. Fern's full name is Fern Willow Yang. Yes, I'm literally terrible at coming up with last names so I just used Z's. So, here is Fern. I love   this one. It's my favorite, so I decided to post it first. I honestly have nothing to say except why is she tilting so much. (That isn't meant to be a question, she just is tilting a tad to much in my personal opinion, other than that I like it.) I really like this one, I'm gonna edit it because it'll look so cool. Yes, there is a rock behind her to help her stand. I think she was starting to fall during when I took this photo. (She fell and I couldn't ca...

Information for Today

Image
I'll be going again today, but not to the warehouse. I'm not going back in the warehouse because it's kind of pointless at this point. I went in at 1:30 and I got everything I wanted. I don't like any of the dolls in there and I have Melody, Maryellen, Lea, Grace, and Kit. I don't need a 14th  doll. I also don't have room for doll furniture I won't use much. I am going to try and be there by anywhere between 10:00 and 10:30. I'll be bringing Fern, but I still will still be showing more pictures of her tomorrow. I will be bringing her in the outfit she's in in this picture.   It's not great, but it's not terrible. She's one of those dolls whose way prettier in person. I'll be posting 2 more times today. Once about my experience at the second day of the AG Benefit Sale and then about Fern. She needs a bit of cleaning up, but she's great quality. The old American Girl I miss. Now, I need to stop raving about Fern in this post and j...

My Experience At the AG Benefit Sale Part 1

Vendors and Hidden Mattel Store       First of all, I'm internally screaming. I have #4, who I named Fern, you'll see her on Sunday or Monday. Second, I think I saw Des from Once Upon an American Girl on Instagram. Let me fill you in on how I got #4. So, it was around 8:40 probably and I went to see vendors. The first vendor I went to is where I got Fern. So, the vendor had a lot of archived stuff. I decided to ask her if she had #4. She said she had one and she brought her over. She's super good quality and her limbs are kinda loose, but not as bad as a doll I once got who was new. She has a little pen mark under her bangs, which is fine with me. After going to the vendors I went to a store at the American Girl headquarters. It's open to the public. It's towards the back, you just have drive into the parking lot and you should see a sign. They have Mattel stuff that isn't American Girl and some old American Girl stuff. I got 2 outfits, the Merry Magenta ...

Information for Tomorrow

Sorry this took so long. We drove by the American Girl headquarters and it turns out that there is a little Mattel store inside. So, here's the information about me going for tomorrow. Vendors: So, I'm trying to be at the vendor area by anywhere from 8 to 8:30. I don't know if I'll be bringing her or not. It depends on how close our parking is and on just how crowded it is.  Entry Time: Okay, so my entry time is 1:30 if you wondered, just thought that I'd include that. Hair: Okay, so this is a weird one, but if it matters my hair is kinda aqua and more of a blue-ish color on the ends. It hard to explain. Links: So, this will help give additional information I've included before this post.  http://theamericangirltheory.blogspot.com/2018/07/information-about-sabrina-for-tomorrow.html http://theamericangirltheory.blogspot.com/2018/05/ag-benefit-sale-2018.html The outfit part in the second link is unneeded, I just ended up picking out my favorite. I also...

So, the lists have been sent out so I have a tiny idea of what I'll be getting. (There'll be more than what was put on the list.) There will still be another post today, just decided to share this. Maryellen's School Outfit Original Price: $32 AG Benefit Sale Price: $18 Samantha's Special Day Dress Original Price: ? AG Benefit Sale Price: $15 Lea's Beach Dress Original Price: It was the part of the set, so I do not know the price. Thanks for reading!!! ~Ella

Information About Sabrina for Tomorrow

Image
I was originally going to do packing for Sabrina, but I realized this was more important. So basically don't know if I will still be bringing her or not. That is because this was sent out in an email about the AG Benefit Sale.   I'm curious about this rule because the 2 main reasons I am bringing Sabrina are so if any of you are going you can recognize Sabrina so if want you can say hi. The second reason is because I can guarantee that the AG Benefit Sale won't be selling custom that fan make. (Not off of the American Girl site.) You're probably thinking that customs would be included in that rule but since American Girl is donating stuff and they seem to push our customs under the rug a bit. They easily could have told the people holding the sale not to mention dolls with full on colored hair. A few posts ago I mentioned how the zip ties seem to be trying to prevent us from customizing our dolls and fixing them up ourselves. It just lines up in my head. Yes, I know t...

My Favorite Things About Each of My Dolls

Like other posts with my dolls, this won't be including Alice and Lucy. Here are my favorite things about each of my dolls. Caroline: Her eyes. I love the color and they are mint green, which happens to be my favorite color. I also think it looks extra cool being that her eyes are decal. Felicity: Her little curls. I don't know why, I've just always thought they were cool. Also because not many other dolls have any little curls.  Rebecca: Her hair. I just love the style American Girl did it in. It's also fairly easy to finger curl which is nice. Clara: Her bangs. I miss the original thick bangs American Girl used to have. They tried to recreate it with Beforever Samantha, but it just isn't the same. I know sometime this year I will be getting #4 and she has the thick bangs like Clara. Marie: Her paint. Okay, that probably doesn't make sense. What I mean is that her eyes, lips, and blush is all painted on. For a doll that small it just looks super diffi...

My Doll Holiday Dresses

Image
Some of these dresses were in my post from the 14th, but they will also be in this post. I would also like to point out that Marie doesn't have a holiday dress. Maryellen: Nanea: I got this dress off of Etsy. Sabrina: Rebecca: Clara: Elanor: Caroline: Kit:  Luciana: Felicity: Lea: Grace: Melody: This used to be a different doll's (Jenna), but it looks pretty similar to Melody, so it's hers now. 3 days until the AG Benefit Sale! Thanks for reading!!! ~Ella

My Doll Furniture

Image
I'm going to only be showing the doll furniture that I always use. (Not the donut shop stuff, yes I made a doll donut shop, moving on.) Also, I was going to show all my doll dresses on the 19th but I decided against it since making it would be similar to my post on the 14th, which was difficult. Anyways, here you go. Bench: I got this at Hobby Lobby, I painted it and put fake petals inside of it. Storage Cabinet Things: It has 5 drawers and I store some doll clothes in it. Luciana and Sabrina Stuff: Kitchen Stuff: 4 days until the AG Benefit Sale! Thanks for reading!!! ~Ella

How I Got Into American Girl

I'm not sure how I found out about American Girl, but I first went to American Girl in 2012 I think. A memory I have from going to American Girl before I had one of their dolls is wanting one of McKenna's outfits for my Build-A-Bear, why, I don't know. For my 7th birthday I got Caroline, and then it took off from there. I kept getting dolls for my birthday for the next 4 years. These dolls were Gwen (38),  Felicity, Jenna (55), and Sabrina (24 custom). When I was 8 my friend gave me a #3 who I named Clara. I bought Rebecca, Grace, Lea, Luciana, Melody, Maryellen, Nanea, and Kit with my own money. (That was in the wrong order.)  When I was 11 I created this blog because I had literally 1 theory. American Girl got me obsessed with history. I want to find a way to make younger girls read the stories so they can really know the character and treat the doll with more respect. I love customizing, but when someone leaves historical doll with the same name and everything but dresse...

How I Customized Elanor

Image
Elanor is my custom Our Generation. Our Generation dolls have terrible hair quality which motivated me to customize her. I first gave her some freckles (not nearly as many as she has now) before I gave her a new wig. Eventually, I got fed up with her hair so I ordered her a new wig from Beautifully Custom. Then a couple months later, I added more freckles and painted over her current lip color. I used acrylic paint for both her lips and freckles. I used washable marker to draw where I wanted to put the freckles. I also cut off her hair because Our Generation doll hair is rooted into the head. So here 2 picture showing you a bit more of what I mean. Elanor was originally an Ella Grace doll. If you're thinking of customizing an Our Generation doll, I will warn you. Cutting off the hair takes a long time and is difficult. 6 days until the AG Benefit Sale! Thanks for reading!!! ~Ella

My Archived Clothing Items

Image
I most certainly forgot some outfits in this, but that's alright, it was difficult anyways. I also have the butterfly wings from one of Rebecca's exclusive outfits. I didn't count hats either. I didn't include names because I don't know them all and I'm not about to go on a hunt for the names. For some I may include the name. Yes, I forgot what boots went with this but the boots are in this post. The first Beforever Samantha outfit I got. I have the shorts, I just don't know where they are. While typing this I realized that I forgot one of American Girl's early 2000's gymnastics outfits. I have Caroline's skates, but the picture wouldn't download when I was trying to send it to my email. I have the skirt, it's just on Grace. Some other archived items are on my dolls. (Archived items are on Grace, Felicity, Caroline, and Rebecca.) Yes, I know these are mix and match items. I just wanted to make ...
